Contemporary Dance

Contemporary offers young people the chance to develop dance on their terms. We include traditional technique in class, and combine it with expression, freedom of movement, and creative processes. Contemporary is offered at Pre Intermediate to Advanced level from the age of 11. Some students take this class as an alternative to ballet. Many find Contemporary dance complements their other chosen disciplines.

NEWS: Both Advanced and Pre/Inter Contemporary will be performing at the Hope and Glory Event at the Knavesmire on Sunday 3 July 2011. This event is in aid of Help for Hero’s and The Army Benevolent Fund. Red Shoes Dance Studio is performance Contemporary, Jazz n’ Street, Musical Theatre, and Tap (if we have the correct floor for Tap).
