Ballet
Ballet is taught from ages 3 years upwards from Tiny Tots, Tots and Pre Primary to Advanced standard. Tiny Tots Ballet, ages 3 years, have 30 minute sessions in basic ballet & dance core skills with lots of imagination and fun. Tots ballet, ages 4 years, begin a slightly more formal class with set exercises, but still including imagery and mime. They can also start Tots Tap at this age, making rhythm with their feet and playing with tempo. Pre Primary classes in Ballet and Tap allow children to develop complete foundation skills and work toward an examination if they wish.
From here children can work through the grades from Primary to Advanced (set and free syllabus.) enjoying ballet for the benefit of working their core centre and to develop their artistic qualities, musicality, posture and strength. Senior ballet is an ideal class for young people who wish to rejoin ballet. All pupils at RSD Studio have the opportunity to enter the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing (ISTD) examinations and take part in many performance events.
